Many families are concerned not only about their son’s addictions but how far they have fallen behind in their education. With 3D Teen Recovery, you don’t have to substitute one for the other. In fact, we believe that part of the healing process is developing character and habits for the future, and that includes continuing their education. Here’s how it works:

On Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays all of the young men in Three Dimensional Life work on their educational endeavors in the afternoon. They are given an additional hour each night to work on school or 3D related assignments. There is also free time throughout the week and on weekends during which residents may work on school assignments.

While we do online courses, we have a secure firewall, along with a third party security program, to keep our residents blocked off from the rest of the internet. We understand that social media has most likely been a stumbling block for your son so we take precautions to prevent our residents from reaching any sites other than the required sites for their schooling.

A staff member will be present during the hours of our education program to ensure that your son stays on track and is able to understand his courses. Our staff will also assist your son’s needs in the areas of online courses, college enrollment, and/or GED preparation/exam scheduling.

We require all of our residents to take part in the education program at 3D in one form or another. Most of our residents will fit within one of the following categories:

Our residents who are still in high school take part in Faith Academy Online. Faith Academy is a non-profit school based out of Buford, Georgia. It is a fully accredited high school. You will have to contact Faith Academy Online to send them your son’s transcripts to create an account with Faith Academy. The cost for each class is approximately $199 per semester. Your son may sign up for a maximum of 4 classes per semester. You must make financial arrangements with Faith Academy as this cost is separate from tuition.

Some of our young men are simply too far behind in their classes for a traditional high school diploma to be realistic. For instance, if your son is 17 and has not completed his freshman year then it may be time to consider other options. Many of our residents have spent time studying for their GED Exam and have subsequently passed their test immediately upon completion of 3D. We have seen many residents move on to establish careers, or attend technical school,  and even college.

If your son has received his High School Diploma or GED Certificate, we would love to help him get into college. We allow these residents to pursue an online college education while at Three Dimensional Life. We are more than happy to assist our residents in the college enrollment process whether they are trying to pursue an online college education while at 3D or pursuing a traditional college education after their time at 3D is complete.

When young men graduate any recovery program, many struggle to find new hobbies and activities that are both fun & productive. All of our residents will take part in our H.O.M.E initiative. H.O.M.E stands for Health Outings and Meaningful Experiences. This program is geared toward finding an activity or hobby that your son will enjoy during their time with us and after. These activities may include but are not limited to; hiking, movie nights, fishing, go kart racing, bowling, volunteerism, and gardening.

We understand that your son may not want to come into our program. However, we can assure you that the young men in our program learn to love their time at Three Dimensional Life. Your son isn’t in an institution, he is in recovery. Everyday at 3D is a reminder that this place is different. So many times we have heard graduates tell us that they consider their time at Three Dimensional Life to be the best time of their life. There is a brotherhood at 3D that runs deep. Graduates stay in contact with us and enjoy coming back to visit.

Your son too will grow to love Three Dimensional Life. While your son will take part in an individualized treatment plan for his therapy, there are many other aspects of our program. Our residents enjoy taking part in all of our many activities.

We believe that physical health & nutrition is very important to recovery. Three days a week we visit our community partner, Georgia Mountains YMCA to help our young men work towards physical fitness.

We have a daily activity time for our residents to get active or relax with one another. These activities include basketball, volleyball, movie nights, sports video games, throwing a baseball/football, board games, & plenty of other types of activities. We have a sand volleyball court & a basketball court on property.

As part of our approach to recovery, we believe in introducing your son to new activities he can participate in that do not involve drugs or other reckless behavior. When your son completes the program, he is going to need to stay busy with activities to replace all of the time he spent using or trying to use. You can read more about these outings on our Approach Page.

We attend Free Chapel Worship Center every Sunday morning and Wednesday evening. This is a large campus with high energy music & dynamic preaching. Our young men enjoy this time. We also attend the yearly Forward Conference at the Gwinnett Arena (Infinite Energy Arena).
